In Coach Schweers 1st season at Huntsville, the boys finished 15 - 18. The team started the season slowly as they were learning a new style and playing an extremely tough schedule. The tough schedule paid off when they beat Sparkman 51 - 50 to win the Class 7A Area 7 tournament. The area championship was the first for the Huntsville boys since 2005. The Panthers then advanced to the Elite 8 which was their best finish since 1988. Coach Schweers' first team laid a stong foundation for the future.
